Elected Officers for 2012-2013

NYSFDA is governed by a volunteer Board of Directors comprised of licensed funeral directors from small and large firms around the state. NYSFDA Officers are outstanding practitioners of funeral directing who have demonstrated a commitment to upholding the mission and goals of the Association.

Doyle Tim 

Timothy P. Doyle, CFSP, President

Timothy P. Doyle, CFSP, owner of the Timothy P. Doyle Funeral Home in Poughkeepsie, was elected president of NYSFDA at the organization’s annual meeting held on August 13, 2012 in Poughkeepsie, New York. A New York State licensed funeral director since 1990, Doyle will serve for the 2012-2013 term.  Doyle is a past regional governor of NYSFDA and a past president of the Dutchess-Putnam-Ulster Funeral Directors Association.  Active in many community affairs, Doyle is a member of Hospice of Dutchess County and past chairman of the Hospice Foundation, the Council of Alcoholism Prevention and Education (CAPE), and the McElroy Foundation which supports terminally ill children and their families. He is also past co-chair for Relay for Life, American Cancer Society.  Doyle is also a regular speaker for the Victim Impact Panel for Drunk Driving. He is a committee person for the town of Poughkeepsie Republican Party.  Doyle attended Dutchess Community College attaining an Associate of Applied Science Business degree, and graduated from Hudson Valley Community College with a degree in Mortuary Science.

Martin 

Francis “Joe” Martin, Jr., President-elect

Francis “Joe” Martin, Jr., funeral director at the Miller Funeral Homes in Rochester, was elected president-elect of NYSFDA at the organization’s annual meeting held on August 13, 2012 in Poughkeepsie, New York.  A New York State licensed funeral director since 1982, Martin will serve for the 2012-2013 term. Martin is a fourth generation funeral director who worked with his father and grandfather at Henry D. Halloran Son, Inc., in West Henrietta. Named as manager in 1986, he held that post until the company merged with Miller Funeral Homes in 2011. Martin acted as NYSFDA secretary/treasurer, Region #1 governor, and served as a NYSFDA State Director for six years. He is a member and two-time past president of the Rochester Genesee Valley Funeral Directors Association (RGVFDA). He has been a member of the RGVFDA Board of Directors for the past 15 years. Martin is also a member of the National Funeral Directors Association. Martin is a charter member of the Henrietta Genesee Valley Moose Lodge #2290, 3rd and 4th Degree member of the Knights of Columbus, a life member of the West Henrietta Fire Department, a past chief of the Henrietta Fire District and a Commissioner of the Henrietta Fire District for the past 11 years currently serving as chairman of the Board of Commissioners. He is also a charter member of the Redknights Motorcycle Club NY Chapter #22. Martin graduated from Monroe Community College with a Associate of Applied Science Degree in Business Administration in 1980, and from Simmons School of Mortuary Science in 1981.

Enos 

Robert C. Enos, Secretary/Treasurer

Robert C. Enos owner of Hoy Funeral Home, Inc., in West Seneca, was elected secretary/treasurer of NYSFDA at the organization’s annual meeting held on August 13, 2012 in Poughkeepsie, NY.  A New York State licensed funeral director since 1974, Enos will serve for the 2012-2013 term.Robert is past president of the Erie-Niagara Funeral Directors Association, past vice chair of the New York State Funeral Directors Support Services, Inc., past vice chair of Directors Choice Credit Union, past president of the West Seneca Rotary Club, past recipient of Rotary’s Paul Harris Fellowship award, member of the West Seneca Chamber of Commerce, Board member of the New York State Tribute Foundation, Inc., and member of the National Funeral Directors Association. Robert graduated from Lockport Senior High School, State University of New York at Canton, and Niagara University. He and his wife Mimi reside in Orchard Park. He has a son Brian, a daughter Cynthia, and a grandson Michael.

 

Beatrice E. Lewanduski, CFSP, Immediate Past President

Beatrice Lewanduski, manager of the D’Andrea Brothers Funeral Home in Copiague, was elected immediate past president of the New York State Funeral Directors Association (NYSFDA) at the organization’s annual meeting held on August 13, 2012 in Poughkeepsie, New York. A New York State licensed funeral director since 1977, Ms. Lewanduski will serve for the 2012-2013 term. Ms. Lewanduski is a past president of the Nassau-Suffolk Funeral Directors Association, and Governor of NYSFDA Region 5. She is a member and former secretary of the Rockville Centre Lions Club and a cantor at Our Lady of Grace Church in West Babylon. Ms. Lewanduski is a graduate of Deer Park High School and SUNY Farmingdale.

 

S. Scott Mason, CFSP, Continuing Past President

S. Scott Mason, CFSP (Certified Funeral Service Practitioner), owner of the Mason Funeral Home in Westfield, was elected continuing past president of NYSFDA at the organization’s annual meeting, on August 13, 2012 in Poughkeepsie, New York. A New York State licensed funeral director since 1991, and in Pennsylvania since 1984, Mason will serve for the 2012-2013 term.  He serves as Chairman of the SUNY Canton Mortuary Science Advisory Committee, and is a member of the SUNY Canton College Foundation Board as well as the National Funeral Directors Association, Chautauqua County Funeral Directors Association, Funeral Ethics Association and the American Academy of Bereavement.  Active in many civic affairs, Mason is a board member of the Westfield Development Corporation, a member of the Westfield Rotary Club, Westfield Fire Department Exempt Fireman‘s Association. He speaks at many community and church sponsored forums on Funerals and Death.  Mason is a graduate of SUNY Canton with an Associate of Applied Science degree in Mortuary Science; he also attended Gannon University in Erie, Pennsylvania where he studied Psychology and Sociology.  Mason is married with two daughters. The Mason family resides at the funeral home.
