Albany, NY -- January 19 -- Now consumers can easily find information and advice about funerals and funeral service, working through grief after the death of a loved one or beloved pet, preplanning a funeral, funeral traditions and much more in “Transitions -- A Consumer Guide to End-of-Life Issues and Funerals.”

Published by the New York State Funeral Directors Association (NYSFDA) on behalf of the New York State Tribute Foundation, “Transitions” is a compilation of newspaper articles written to address consumer questions that funeral directors have been asked over the past several years. The 72 page book contains six chapters covering: Funerals and Memorialization; Grief; Preplanning and Prefunding a Funeral; Wills and Taxes; Veterans, and Interesting Funeral Information and Practices. Many of the articles include helpful contact information for the organizations and government agencies mentioned in the articles.

The New York State Tribute Foundation is a not-for-profit, charitable organization which is the educational and philanthropic arm of the 750 member New York State Funeral Directors Association.

According to Bonnie McCullough, NYSFDA’s executive director: “Transitions covers almost every aspect of funeral service in an interesting and readable format. From a chapter on Writing Your Own Obituary to Thoughts on Paying Your Last Respects to Creating New Funeral Traditions, this book is a modern guide for all of us who are looking for information about funeral service and end-of-life issues. It also shares compassionate advice from bereavement experts on how to work through grief resulting
from the death of a loved one, be they a relative or friend, or even a pet.”
