The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and Funeral Homes

Presented by Frank Kerbein, NYSFDA Director of Member Relations and Programs
Funeral homes of every size must comply with the accessibility provisions of the Americans with Disabilities Act to ensure that individuals with disabilities have full access to the goods and services they provide.  This one-hour program will focus on the importance of complying with this law and minimizing the legal and financial risks to each funeral home.

The Laws and Regulations of the Practice of Funeral Directing:  A Presentation and Explanation Of NYSFDA’s Manual

Presented by Randy McCullough, CAE, NYSFDA Deputy Executive Director, and Scott Dolan, NYSFDA Assistant Director of Government Affairs
This one-hour program will introduce NYSFDA’s new manual of New York State’s laws and regulations surrounding the practice of funeral directing.  The manual will be handed out at each session. The presentation will focus on explaining and highlighting the contents of the manual, on how to best to navigate and maximize its use.

The business meeting will also take place between the two hours of continuing education.  Regions 3 and 5 will elect a new Regional Governor.  The agenda for the day is as follows:
